THE ARTIST:
JACKIE MERCANDETTI

Jackie Mercandetti became interested in Photography at age 11 and some of her earliest works include photographing her little sister and family members at home. After graduating from High School, she decided to turn her hobby of taking pictures for fun into a profession. Jackie studied at a photography trade school in New York City. Following her training, she was fortunate to find an assistant position with an internationally acclaimed still life photographer in New York City. It was during this time where she started to develop her abilities and skills as a photographer.

Looking for a different opportunity, Jackie moved from her hometown of Brooklyn, New York to Arizona in 1994. Jackie has been working as a professional photographer for the past 14 years. More recently, she has been working as an Editorial photographer and is most interested in People, Still Life Photography and Advertising. Her work has been featured in various media outlets, including Arizona Business Magazine, Arizona Foothills Magazine, Barrow Magazine, The Intelligence Report, Phoenix Magazine, the Phoenix New Times, and Valley Guide.

Jackie's photographic talent allows her to capture a beauty and realness not easily expressed by words. Her images, she hopes, will captivate and evoke feelings of a sense of place and the uniqueness of her subject's character in the viewers. Jackie envisions through her photographs unfolding a story that allows the viewers to connect to her subject as if they were there in person.
